"Through the interaction of three generations, the film "JOPPARI - The Nurse, Miki Hanada" tells the story of nurse Miki Hanada, who is a bearer of the spirit of the Red Cross in post-war Japan. Starting her training as a Red Cross nurse, she is not directly interested in the movement itself, but growing up in a conservative society, she increasingly discovers the depth and frankness of the messages of the Red Cross organization. Finally reaching her cherished phrase that everything that opposes life is evil.
The film leads us through the battles and challenges of Miki Hanada, through filigreely presented historical events, revealing the depth and multi-layeredness of Japanese society. We see how humanity gradually overcomes even the most difficult bureaucracy and how individuals are able to change the state machine, making it work for the benefit of all people. Miki Hanada's kindness and perseverance leave us with the desire to become useful and good, like her. And as the film ends, it remains in the minds and hearts of the viewers.

映画「じょっぱりー看護の人 花田ミキ」は、三世代の交流を通じて、戦後の日本において赤十字の精神を体現した看護師・花田ミキさんの物語を描いています。彼女は赤十字の看護師として訓練を始めた当初は、赤十字運動そのものに特別な関心があったわけではありません。しかし、保守的な社会の中で成長していく中で、赤十字の掲げるメッセージの深さと率直さを徐々に理解し、やがて「命を阻むものはすべて悪」という、彼女が大切にしていた言葉にたどり着きます。
本作は、花田ミキさんが直面した数々の困難や挑戦を、繊細に描かれた歴史的背景の中でたどっていき、日本社会の奥深さと多層性を鮮やかに浮かび上がらせます。人間の持つ力が、いかに複雑で硬直した官僚制度さえも乗り越え、人々のためにそれを動かすことができるかが描かれています。花田ミキさんの優しさと信念は、観る者に『自分も誰かのために役に立ちたい』『善くありたい』という想いを残し、物語が終わったあともその余韻は心に深く残ります。
